“Super Member” call to action
3:36 PM EDT 3/14/08
I wanted to let you all know that we sent out a “special WebJunction invitation” yesterday to reconnect with our “Super Members”. We are looking to involve these members in the work leading up to the launch of our new features, and for their super engagement as move forward. In general these are folks who have contributed to WebJunction as an Advocate, Editor, Moderator, Presenter, or Trainer/Coordinator from the Spanish Language Outreach or Rural Library Sustainability Programs.

If you have “Super Members” you’ve been looking to engage at this stage of the process, please use the attached letter for your outreach efforts. The letter includes a link to a short online form to collect updated contact info and a few questions to gauge their interest.

As many of you are in this cohort, you may have received this email yesterday. We’d love your feedback as a member, but know that many of you are quite busy with team lead responsibilities. With this in mind, we also wanted to let you know that we plan to keep the entire team lead group up-to-date about the happenings of the “Super Members” through the newsletter and our monthly updates.

Thank you for all you do for WJ members!
Jennifer

I thought the second point was a great overview of what's to come. When will WJ be sharing this overview with the broader community?

Wanted to let you all know that we're opening up the Advocates "call to action" in a public discussion on the site. There is a WJ Advocates forum with 3 topics so far, one with an overview and a link to a new version of the surveymonkey form for their contact information, a second for Advocate introductions, and a third with details about the spring cleanup project. I've also sent a follow-up to the folks who responded to the earlier email using the text attached. We're also going to include a message about all of this in the May Crossroads.

Let us know if you have thoughts and suggestions!

Here is the direct link to the Surveymonkey contact form that you can paste directly into your own 'call to action': http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=vCqaS_2fAvdKS7vEC4lqHBvg_3d_3d
(or direct them to the discussion boards: http://webjunction.org/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=9162&tstart=0)

We'll be sending out a private invite to these folks for the advocate sneak peek in a few weeks.

Thanks so much for getting the word out to your super members. We're really excited to be connecting with these folks!

For those of you who aren't on the WJ Advocate list, here (below and attached) is the invite we sent to the June 5 invite only preview with info about events at ALA. I'd love to hear from any of you that are attending ALA. Please let me know! If you think of folks you'd like to be sure are added to the list of Advocates, refer them to the Advocates discussion and contact form. There will be an announcement in next week's Crossroads for a public preview on July 1 at 11 PT/2 ET. But here's what we sent to folks last week:

Greetings WJ Advocate,

You’re invited to a Site Sneak Peek Event for the next WebJunction

Mark your calendar for June 5, 11:00 PT / 2:00 ET for a 1-hour preview of the Next WebJunction. We’re very excited to be able to begin sharing details about the new features and enhancements coming later this summer, with you, our super members! Don’t miss this opportunity to preview the site and please come ready with ideas for how we can transition and empower members to make the most of the opportunities the new features offer.

This invite-only preview will take place online in our Wimba Classroom. Here are the instructions for joining the webinar. You don’t need to RSVP for the preview, but if this is your first time attending one of our online sessions, be sure to walk through the setup wizard prior to attending. If you have any questions, let us know.

WebJunction Advocates at ALA

We have a special opportunity for WJ Advocates attending ALA. In addition to inviting you to attend our WebJunction sessions and events, we encourage you to join us as a table facilitator at the Library 2.0 Roundtable session Saturday, June 28, 1:30-3:30pm. The format of this session promises to provide a unique opportunity for attendees to become engaged in productive and practical brainstorm sessions. Because we know that library staff often come to conferences with varying levels of experience or interest in technology, we are shifting from the usual presenter/audience format. Instead we will build smaller, focused discussions around some of the challenges and opportunities of Library 2.0, and provide opportunities for participants to customize the session to meet their needs.

Would you like to be involved in the planning or facilitation of this unique event? If so, please respond to this email and we’ll follow up with details. There are lots of ways to be involved–even a minimal time commitment will provide guaranteed returns!

Here are your Advocate Action Items:

-Come to the Sneak Preview Webinar (http://www.webjunction.org/do/DisplayContent?id=20345) on June 5.
-Please respond to this email by June 4 if you’re attending ALA. Also let us know if you are interested in being a part of the Library 2.0 Roundtable planning or facilitation.
-Make sure to spread the word about the new WJ Advocates cohort. Send folks to the Advocates Discussion and encourage them to fill out the Advocate contact form.
-Keep your eye on BlogJunction and spread the word about the Next WJ.
-Stay tuned for more opportunities to be engaged as WJ Advocates!

We can’t tell you how thrilled we are to be sharing these exciting times with you! Please join us on June 5, and stay in engaged in the months to come!

Thank you!

The WebJunction Team
